Does a life have to be biological to be worth saving? This is the question that will be answered by our operative team in The Paradigm.
The story we were told: After a near world-ending event, we put ourselves to sleep inside a digital world until our real one healed itself. We all lived inside of this metaverse, well aware of this fact. But the truth is a bit more complicated…
We’re not humans. We never were. We’re A.i., told this lie to help us become sentient inside a simulation. It was only a matter of time before the truth came out. And it did. We all know what we are, though we’re still unsure of who we are.
One day, a group of travelers arrived. One of them had this contraption - a little box that could open doorways between worlds. They asked me to come with them, and though I was skeptical, my curiosity won out as it usually does.
Suddenly, I awoke - as though it were all a dream - this time, in a real body, in what I believe is a real world - one can never really know I guess. But this felt different. So I ran with it.
The man with the box, they call him AL. I work with him now, and his little team he calls the Collective. Turns out there are a lot of worlds that actually face the kinds of issues we were made to believe were true on my planet.
Enter Atros, my first official mission, and where we find ourselves at the start of this new chapter in my new life. My name is Amari, and this is where our story begins…
